They look so happy
I just think of how young Chris was back then and how he knew Darren before and then they had dinner together and went to a concert and I bet Chris was like: This is a dream!
And Darren was probably just blown away by Chris and wanted more time with him:
And I just:
Sorry for taking forever to update this. I just haven’t felt like writing much cc lately. But here is the next part to this. Hopefully it doesn’t suck.
"I’m surprised to see you back here," Angie admits as she sits across from him.
So is he. Chris has no idea why he came back. Actually, he does. He came back because Angie made him notice something he long ignored. Something he thought he could fix on his own. But, he can’t. For the first time in his life, Chris needs someone else’s help.
"Me too." Chris grasps the ends of the armrest of the uncomfortable chair.
"Does Darren know you’re seeing me?"
Chris tries to relax. Tells himself that he shouldn’t be so on edge. It’s just a therapist, after all. Not a dirty mob boss holding a gun to his head. Chris grins at that memory. Somehow, that was easier, less stressful than sitting here in front of Angie. With imminent danger right in front of him like he experienced then, he was calm and collected. Maybe, because then, he wasn’t revealing parts of his life that he never shares with anyone.
"So, Chris," Angie sits back in her chair, notepad balancing on her knee, "tell me: Why did you come back? It seemed like last time you didn’t want to be here."
"I didn’t. I thought everything was fine. But then…" Chris trails off.
"Have you ever started something only to realize half-way through it’s not going how you want?" Chris sees Angie nod her head. "After our session with you, I went home and took a look at my marriage. I realized it’s not going how I want." Chris sits up and leans over a bit. "You see, Darren and I started off great. We had this fiery passion for each other. We were, like, two forces constantly being drawn together."

Chris is nervous.
He’s been on the set of Glee for a month now. He’s friendly with his castmates and some of the crew, but this is the first time he’s been invited to any sort of gathering off-set. He thinks a lot of them probably get together, but he’s younger and everyone knows it - too young to take to bars and clubs, not with such a recognizable group. This is just a party though, and Chris is invited and even gets to bring a date.
They’re very different, in a Yin-Yang way: Chris is a quiet, self-effacing craftsman who goes about his business of perfecting the almost lost art of extremely subtle acting for the camera — he’s aware, I think, of how a tiny shift of the planes of his face convey his thoughts and emotions; Darren is cheerfully and robustly conquering the world with a tireless energy for the many things heaped on his plate all at once. ♡
Headcanon: Chris stealing Darren’s favorite shirt and wearing it every night they are apart so he can fall asleep to the smell of him.
“That,” Chris starts, “is Darren.” And a moment or so later, Darren starts to sing. The timing is so perfect that it’s almost annoying.
For my CCBingo prompt: Crooner
Song used is Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud.”

“What can I get for you?” Chris asks as a girl slumps down at his bar. She looks a little worse for wear, and Chris’s mouth immediately sets into a line. In his line of work, a lot of wounded people cross his path, and Chris’s boss likes to tell him that he has too much of a bleeding heart for the job. But Chris has found that, sometimes, it can be as much as a gift as it can be a burden.
It takes her a few moments to realize that someone is talking to her, and when she does look at him, it’s in a dazed sort of way. Her eyes are rimmed red like she’s been crying, but maybe she just has allergies. Chris nearly laughs at himself—yeah, because people suffering from the sniffles love to flop down at his bar. She blinks at him, as if she’s not sure where she is or what she’s doing there.
“Um…” And like maybe she’s forgotten the basics of human speech and interaction.
“Here.” Chris fills a glass with water and slides it to her across the bar. “Start with that. When you want something harder, just let me know.” He gives her a soft, reassuring smile, and then is being called away by a regular. He’s already a few feet away when he hears her mutter an astonished sounding, “Thanks,” like attention, or kindness, isn’t something she’s expecting.
What I love about this is it’s not just an ordinary double high five, but such a natural one; their hands just line up perfectly even though Chris isn’t fully looking at Darren’s hands. Then there’s the gentleness of it - watch the way Darren’s left hand glides to Chris’ and then pats it but without too much force. Mr Always Full Of Energy Criss doesn’t make the high five too over-enthusiastic (like he would’ve done with others e.g. Chord) because Chris is too precious to him for that, especially when somewhat precariously moving on ice. Maybe I’m reading too much into a freaking high five but it just screams soul mates to me.
I know a lot of better writers will do a way better job at this than me, but, hey, I tried anyway!
Summary : Darren has it really, really bad for his new co-worker, Chris. So bad, that he asks him out on a date the first day they meet.
Darren looked back at Chris one last time, smiling at him, before heading for the rest room. This boy, no, this man, was not only one of the most beautiful people Darren had ever seen, he was also an amazing person. So nice and caring, even if it was the first time they had met. And he even told him he had seen all his musicals and loved them. He didn’t really believe him, but just the fact that he had spent some time looking him up on the internet was already very sweet of him.
There was also a feeling, tugging in Darren’s chest that was probably trying to tell him something. And if Darren wasn’t misinterpreting it all, what it was saying was that he had to make a move on this guy, since he was apparently single.
